I have also been known as Paula Mann, Paula Vess, and Husna Schnebelt. I was raised and baptized a Christian and now prefer to call myself a lover of God. I follow the teachings of a wise old man from Jerusalem who counsels love, peace, and mercy—regardless of religion. I believe there is one God.
I have lived in many places: Arizona, New Mexico, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, California, Oklahoma, Colorado, and now back to California (since 1998). Our children have been born in this house, so we expect to spend the rest of our lives here. They are attending a Waldorf-methods charter school in Napa, Stone Bridge School. When I lived in Colorado, I played in the mountains every day. Skiing, mountain biking, backpacking, snowshoeing, hiking. I haven't done much of these things since i became a midwife and started having children again. My life is so delightfully full as it is..... I take so much pleasure in my work. What a gift to be among the first to behold new life!....

My Daughters
My oldest daughter, Michelle Vess, lives in Las Vegas where she works at one of the upscale restaurants and with her I am well pleased. She is beautiful, sharp, witty, and kind.
My next daughter, Laila, is also a very bright and beautiful light - with a definite mischevious streak! She has a particular talent in music and art. Sarah is a soft and quiet and unassuming girl with deep compassion and athletic confidence. Amina is fiery and sassy and, like a butterfly, always flitting about - tasting all the flowers. Rabia is the lover and divine imitator with every expectation of doing whatever her sisters are doing!
